CHETEK AREA MUSEUM

The Chetek Area Calhoun Museum, operated by the Chetek Area Historical Society, is a membership supported non-profit organization that collects, promotes and interprets history of the Chetek area in northern Wisconsin. The mission of the Calhoun Museum is to preserve and offer Chetek area history to all who have lived in, or vacationed in, or visited the Chetek area.

The Museum has four Chetek area focal points:

  • The Lumber Industry

  • Tourist industry

  • Native American history

  • U.S. military service of Chetek area residents

The Museum is located at 120 Knapp Street, Chetek and is open Memorial Day through Labor Day Thursday, Friday & Saturday 1:00pm – 4:30pm.

Pioneer Village Museum

Once known as the “Pinery”, Barron County was a place where Native Americans harvested wild rice, lumber barons amassed fortunes, and pioneers built farms and towns out of dreams.  Visit this quaint 1880’s village.
